European Union High Level Policy Advice Mission to the Republic of Moldova (EUHLPAM) is a funded by the European Union and implemented by United Nations Development Programme in Moldova. 

OUR MISSION

This Mission is the response to the Government of the Republic of Moldova request 
addressed to the European Union for provision of assistance for democratic reforms 
and acceleration of political association and further economic association between 
EU and Moldova. It deploys a group of high level policy advisers to the main public 
institutions and supporting them in their efforts of designing, implementing and 
monitoring relevant policies and measures.

OUR OBJECTIVES
Support the Government to implement its wider reform agenda, the Government
Activity Programme 2011-2014 and the National Development Strategy Moldova
2020, and in particular to assist the Government to develop the capacities required for the preparation, negotiation and implementation of the Association Agreement, including the Deep and Comprehensive Free Trade Area and visa liberalisation. EUHLPAM will achieve these objectives through the continued delivery of an optimal mix of policy, legal and institutional advice.

PROJECT DURATION

The Mission is active since January 2010, and it is currently extended until October 2013.

TOTAL BUDGET

The total budget is 6,600,000 EUR, funded by the European Union and co-funded and implemented by UNDP Moldova.






















Latest from EUHLPAM (25 April 2013)On 25 April 2013, the eighth edition of the publication "Moldovan Economic Trends" (MET) was launched by the Institute of Economy, Finance and Statistics with support from the EUHLPAM Project, financed by EU, in the Conference Room of the Jolly Alon Hotel. 

The event was opened by Mr. Alexandru Stratan, Director of the Institute of Economy, Finance and Statistics. In his welcome speech, he stated the theme of the event and introduced the guests, among which were listed: Mr. Acad Gheorghe Duca, President of the Academy of Sciences of Moldova, Mrs. Oxana Gutu, EUHLPAM Project Manager and other representatives of international organizations, public institutions, private sector and civil society. 

During the event the main socio-economic trends, the estimates/forecasts for 2013 as well as several policy notes on the importance of trade facilitation for enhancing competitiveness in the Republic of Moldova were presented.  

The eighth edition of the publication provides insights on the importance of the EU budget support for the Republic of Moldova, evaluation of macroeconomic forecasting capacities of Moldovan  institutions involved in this process, importance of trade facilitation measures for the expansion of trade and the fruition of the greater access to EU markets.

The publication is issued quarterly and it can be downloaded from the Resources section of the web site and/or www.iefs.md.
